Section A — Physics
- State Newton's three laws of motion. (6 marks)
- A car accelerates from rest to 20 m/s in 8 seconds. Calculate its acceleration. (4 marks)
- Explain the difference between speed and velocity with an example. (4 marks)
- Draw and label a simple circuit containing a battery, switch, and two bulbs in series. (6 marks)
- Define power and state its SI unit. Calculate the power of a machine that does 500 J of work in 10 seconds. (6 marks)
Section B — Chemistry
- Define an element, a compound, and a mixture, giving one example of each. (6 marks)
- Balance the equation: Fe + O₂ → Fe₂O₃ (3 marks)
- Explain the difference between physical and chemical changes with two examples each. (6 marks)
- Describe the arrangement of particles in solids, liquids, and gases. (6 marks)
- What is the pH scale used for? State whether a solution with pH 3 is acidic, neutral, or basic. (4 marks)
Section C — Biology
- List four organelles found in a plant cell but not in an animal cell. (4 marks)
- Describe the process of photosynthesis, including the word equation. (6 marks)
- Explain the function of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. (6 marks)
- Describe one adaptation each in a desert plant and an aquatic animal. (4 marks)
- Explain why diffusion is important for gas exchange in the lungs. (4 marks)
Notes for revision
Topics most frequently tested across past annual finals: Newton's laws, balancing chemical equations, and the structure/function of blood cells. Prioritize these if revision time is limited.
